March 7: Spring Fairy Fair from 11am-5pm at 3101 Sunset Boulevard, Rocklin. Come join over 30 vendors, readers & healers in this wonderful healing fair! March 8: Daylight Savings Time -Spring Forward 1hr

March 8: Grange Monthly Community Breakfast at the Orangevale Grange (5807 Walnut Ave) from 8-10:30am. $6. We make everything from scratch, every 2nd Sunday, including our award-winning Biscuits & Gravy, Scrambled Eggs, Grange Cinnamon French Toast and All you can eat regular Pancakes along with fresh juicy ham. March 12: Food Truck Mania at Vernon Street Town Square from 5-9pm. Join us in Vernon Street Town Square for a delicious range of gourmet food trucks, live music and kids’ zone! Bring money for food and chairs and blankets so you can hang out and enjoy! MORE INFO

March 20: Ponderosa HS Green and Gray Gathering at Cameron Park CSD from 6-9pm. This event is a Bruin favorite attended by 200+ alumni, retired and current staff, and community members. It will be an evening of food, student performances, raffle, dessert dash, and more. This event has grown to be a much-loved tradition bringing together our community to celebrate Ponderosa High School and the impact the Foundation has had during this most recent school year. March 21: Third Saturday Art Walk on Main Street in Placerville from 5-9pm. Art galleries and merchants stay open late to host changing art shows and late-night shopping and dining.  Refreshments, demonstrations and entertainment. Facebook page

March 21: Family Sock Hop at the Cameron Park Community Center from 6:30-8:30pm. Shake, rattle and roll on over to the CSD’s first ever Family Sock Hop! So, go on… grab your poodle skirts and your leather jackets and bring the whole family to hop, bop, and twist the night away! Light refreshments, photo booth area, and group dances will round out this evening of 50’s themed FUN! Free for 50+ otherwise $5 per person. MORE INFO

March 28: 58th Roseville Gem, Jewelry, Fossil and Mineral Show at Johnson Hall (750 Event Center Drive, Roseville) from 10am-4pm. A fun family event with educational activities, over 60 vendors, and many exhibits, throughout the grounds.  A full day of fun and something intriguing for everyone! MORE INFO

March 28: 78th Annual Kids Fishing Derby at the Auburn Regional Park (3770 Richardson Drive, Auburn) from Sunrise until 10:30am. All Boys and Girls 15 years and younger.  There will be prizes. Free hot dogs and soft drinks. MORE INFO

Local Events Calendar Sacramento and Surrounds – February 2020

Here’s this month’s roundup of awesome events in the Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, Roseville, El Dorado Hills, and surrounding areas.

February 1: Bird and Bug Bonanza at Roseville Utility Exploration Center from 10am-2pm. This is a fun and FREE family event where you can see and talk to some live birds. Get to know some of the insects that help keep our ecosystem healthy. There will also be a game room to win prizes, get your face painted, and have some fun learning how to keep our creeks and streams hopping with life! No registration necessary!

February 2:Superbowl Sunday/Groundhog Day

February 5: Food Truck Mania at Old Town Plaza in Elk Grove from 5-8pm. A monthly food truck round-up that includes live entertainment. Presented by SacMoFo. Bring money so you can buy from your favorite food trucks!

February 7: Comedy Night at Roseville Theater (241 Vernon Street). Come to Downtown Roseville for a one of a kind comedy night. Featuring headliner Craig Shoemaker, from Comedy Central, Showtime and Netflix. Alcohol concessions available for purchase. Due

February 8: A Chocolate Affair at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds starting at 6pm. Wine and beer tasting from local wineries and breweries, delicious samples of food from local restaurants and caterers, auctions, and raffles are all part of this gala evening. For Tickets and more info visit

February 22: 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges-Chili Cook-off at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds from 4-8pm. Watch as over 20 First Responders agencies “battle it out” to become the “Best Culinarian in EDC”! Taste test delectable chilies enjoy live entertainment, kids’ activities, and Anchor Brewing beer & local wine. We will also have many local vendors. This event does usually sell out. February 25: Mardi Gras

February 26:Affair of the Heart at Cameron Park CSD from 4:30 to 7pm. Affair of the Heart is a public health focused event presented by Marshall Medical Center and the Cameron Park Community Services District. Activities include information sessions about heart health, health screenings and heart healthy refreshments.

Here’s this month’s local events for Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties.

January 1: New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge at the Orangevale Community Pool from 1-3pm. Either jump or slide into the 48 degree water! January 1: New Year’s Day Food Truck Mania at the Old Town Plaza in Elk Grove from 5-8pm. Come for some yummy Food Truck food and enjoy a night out with your family!

January 1-6: Christmas Tree Recycling at Johnson Springview Park and Twin Oaks Park (both in Rocklin), from 8-5pm.

Jan 1-20: Folsom Ice Skating Rink on Sutter Street in Folsom. Gather your kids, neighbors and friends and visit the Folsom Ice Rink! This beautiful circular ice rink was designed specifically for the plaza in Historic Folsom. The seasonal rink is a treat for the entire community to enjoy! Skating times vary.

Jan 18: El Dorado Hills Rotary Club Crab and Tri-Tip Feed at the El Dorado Hills CSD starting at 6pm. Join the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills for this annual fundraiser featuring greatfood, dancinh, a silent auction, raffle and much more. Event sells out so get your tickets early. Jan 20: Martin Luther King JR. Day

Jan 21-25: 3rd Annual LEGO Building Contest for all ages at the Folsom Public Library. LEGO maniacs are invited to submit their best original creations for competition or visit the library to see the creations and vote for their favorites. Submissions are due Saturday Jan 25th by 11am; voting takes place 2-4pm, and winners are announced at 4pm.
